Pass-On Handmade- a notable blog

This is such a great blog, and it's all about promoting Etsy shops. NiftySupplies is always (maybe not always) in the Etsy chat rooms, meeting new sellers, and offering to help promote by featuring them in her blog. Supporting other sellers is an admirable gesture considering she is running two shops of her own! Today I am featured on Pass-On Handmade. So check it out, and remember to buy handmade.

See this set here.

Happy Friday!

what a difference

Looking back on some of the pictures I have taken of my pieces, I am embarrassed. :) But hey, we all gotta start somewhere right. I have been using a point and shoot digital camera, and it works just fine. Or so I thought. I knew my friend Jaymee took way better pictures than me, and while I believed some of it to be her camera, I also know that she has a ton of talent. Check her out here.

Well if you were wondering if a better camera can actually take better pictures, please keep reading.

Today Jaymee loaned me her old (not good enough for her) camera, which is to me like the Lexus of cameras. Here are some comparisons. Note: I still need a LOT of practice, but the detail it catches..........wow.

I've been trying new angles, and other things, with little luck. So I guess I will just keep working at it. I won't ever be a pro, but if I get a few better pictures, I will be happy. Thanks for the loaner Jaymee.  :)

Best Bead Giveaway Ever!

Denise Yezbak Moore.
Just found this blog today from another blog that I stalk. What an incredible giveaway! Check it out

seeing sequins

This bracelet is a new listing. You can see it here.
But today, while talking to my Sister-in-Law, she said how she would want it in a necklace. Sequins could be my new love. They are so much fun.

toddler bling

I have had this idea for a toddler anklet in my head for months. I wanted it to be dainty and have little, quiet bells on it. I can't wait for this particular little girl to wear it.

Isn't it the cutest thing? I would love to make more, but I don't know that many little girls, and I don't think that my little boys (or their dad) would be very impressed.  :) If you want one for a little girl you know, you know where to find me.

Have a great rest of your weekend.

so many beads, so little time

After a week of vacation, I came home to the mess....errr, the very organized agglomeration of beads I left on my table. Beads, beads, and MORE BEADS staring at me. And for whatever reason, I brought home more! Eeeek.

I have black beads.......
colorful glass beads.......
beads that were given to me.......
beads on strings..........
beads that need an update.........
some pendants..........
loose beads...........
and this! I'm in LOVE! It came in the mail while I was away.
I really need to get started but I just can't seem to stop ogling them. It's not a very productive activity, but it makes me happy.  :)

something new

My blog is pretty new (thanks to my followers) so I haven't ventured much beyond blogging about me. Sorry. :) Well, today I am going to attempt to showcase something new. Wish me luck.

First, I am a blog stalker. I'm sure it's in a good way, not a creepy way, but I love my reader, and I love when someone that I follow (stalk) posts something new. My friend loves this scrapbook store in town, and followed their blog and got me hooked. Recently they posted this and I was filled with delight. I knew I had to have some..... well probably ALL of it. Unfortunately I haven't made it into the store yet. It's not a place I can/would take my toddler. He is less than gentle with things.

Today I got a call. "So I am coming over, bringing a card (for my son) and I picked up some of those necklace pieces for you to make me something." she said. My friend couldn't resist anymore, she broke down and got herself a little gift. Of course I have the tools and the things to make this self-gift, and while she is super crafty, she denies any ability to make a piece of jewelry.

Making Memories has a collection called Vintage Groove by Jill Schwartz. It is seriously the most simple design ever. A chain, some fun charms and voila!!!! Try to tell me this is not the coolest necklace.
I added the beads, but the chain and the awesome fabric flowers are part of the collection.
I made it asymmetrical just because I can. It's my design and that's what I like. I could have done about a million things with this chain and these flowers. Now I know for sure I will be visiting Raffia.

I hope I did this product justice in this post. You should all check it out.

Summer Vacation

No, not mine. *tear* My good friend is going on vacation to the west coast, and swears that her sisters are always dressed "cuter" than she is. I was so excited when she asked me to design her an anklet. Anklets are always in style, and can make any outfit a little cuter, especially during the summer, and at the beach. Have I mentioned I'm a little a LOT jealous? Well, I hope she loves it and I know she will look just as cute as her sisters.
A basic chain with shell dangles. Maybe I will make myself one too and pretend I'm at the beach.

Have a happy day!
